Mallard + Cattail

At first, this painting didn’t come easily — but as the water and cattails took shape, I was transported to the pondside I love so much. The mallard, though common, is endlessly beautiful: serene, steadfast, and shimmering in colour. I love how this piece reminds me to notice the ordinary miracles, the everyday life around us that reflects so much quiet grace.
