Gladsome Tidings

The Gladsome Tidings collection is very near and dear to my heart. It’s hard to express the joy and love I felt while creating it. The pieces came together so naturally as I drew each animal, and the earthy colours of autumn leaves and bare branches harmonized so easily with the light purples of snowy hills at dusk and the deep blues of distant forests. I wanted to put onto paper some of my dearest seasonal memories, as they are shrouded in those colours; I remember the preciousness of autumn, and the hesitation to let it go while simultaneously feeling the excitement of welcoming snow and winter and all that the season brings with it, and I remember singing hymns of the birth of Jesus around my dad’s piano. This collection includes lines from some of my favourite Christmas hymns as a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. I hope this collection helps you to join in the gladsome tidings of the Christmas season.
